John Dunlavey is a history and travel enthusiast, always learning and sharing knowledge. He has travelled extensively to battlefields across Europe and written three books that capture the love of travel with exploring battlefields of Europe. He also looks forward to reaching more interested travellers through the mybattlefieldguide app.
During his time overseas, John has also created battlefield tours for his friends and coworkers, which included a leadership course but also just for familiarization and fun. John is currently working on a volume about Germany's battlefields and the mybattlefieldguide app audio guide as well.
John has had the honor of serving over 20 years for the US State Department with almost half of that time serving in the Middle East, Conflict Zones and Europe. Most recently, John has completed a Masters in Strategic Studies at the US Army War College and he has recently joined the International Guild of Battlefield Guides in 2020.
